Starting this week, the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program is rolling out a massive modernization of its food packages—and for families struggling at the checkout counter, the timing couldn't be better.
More Cash for the Produce Aisle
The most immediate win for residents is the permanent boost to the Cash Value Benefit (CVB). Depending on the category, participants will now see between $25 and $49 per month specifically designated for fresh fruits and vegetables.

The rollout, which officially went live on Friday, April 17, represents the final phase of a nationwide effort to bring WIC into the 2020s.
