ST. CROIX — The Virgin Islands Police Department has launched an active manhunt for 24-year-old Taheem Jarvis, a St. Croix native wanted on serious felony charges including Kidnapping and Domestic Violence.

According to an official alert issued on Monday, June 1, by the VIPD’s Forensic/Identification Section and the Criminal Investigation Bureau, authorities are requesting immediate assistance from the public to locate Jarvis. Detectives warn that he is known to heavily frequent the Harbor View and John F. Kennedy housing communities.

Jarvis is described as an African American male, standing 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 175 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes, and a dark complexion.

While the specific details of the pending kidnapping and domestic violence incident remain shielded under ongoing investigation protocols, Jarvis is no stranger to local law enforcement or the territory's judicial dockets.

In April 2023, Jarvis was one of five individuals intercepted by police in St. Thomas during enhanced Carnival enforcement, where officers discovered a vehicle laden with illegal weaponry—including an untraceable "ghost gun" with no serial number. Later that same year, in October 2023, Jarvis faced severe felony charges on St. Croix, including unlawful possession of a firearm during a crime of violence, reckless endangerment, and discharging a firearm after a chaotic shooting incident near the exact same Kennedy Housing Community he is known to frequent today.

The VIPD is urging the public to exercise caution. Anyone who spots Jarvis or has definitive knowledge of his current whereabouts is instructed to immediately call 911, contact the Wilbur Francis Command at (340) 712-6063, or reach out to the Criminal Investigation Bureau at (340) 712-6092. Anonymous tips can also be funneled directly through Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
