DINNER, DV, AND DESTRUCTION: St. Thomas Woman Kicks In Ex’s Door, Splatters Bedroom With ‘Reddish Liquid’ After Finding Rival In His Bed

ST. THOMAS — A localized, late-night domestic dispute exploded into a string of severe felony and misdemeanor charges yesterday after a routine food delivery turned into a scene of structural destruction and targeted assault, according to sworn court records obtained by the St. Croix Sun News.
Estefany Sosa, a resident of St. Thomas, was arrested and booked into the Richard N. Callwood Command on Thursday following a volatile encounter with her ex-boyfriend of six years, Francis Estrella Rodriguez. Sosa currently faces multiple charges, including Grand Larceny, Simple Assault (Domestic Violence), Destruction of Property (DV), and Disturbance of the Peace.
According to a probable cause fact sheet filed by VIPD Officer Jerome Liddie, the sequence of events began on Wednesday evening, June 3, when Sosa invited Rodriguez to her residence for dinner. Following the meal, Rodriguez left to attend a local party, eventually returning to his apartment on 3rd Street at approximately 5:00 AM Thursday to sleep.
The peace was shattered at 12:30 PM on Thursday, June 4, when Sosa arrived at Rodriguez’s residence under the guise of dropping off food. After being permitted inside, Sosa began pacing erratically through the home, moving between the bathroom and the refrigerator multiple times. The situation turned critical when Sosa peered into the bedroom and discovered another female, identified as Yorleny Delgado, asleep in Rodriguez’s bed.
The sworn statement notes that Sosa immediately summoned a friend, Mavel, to the scene and attempted to breach the bedroom to launch an attack on Delgado. In a desperate bid to protect the woman, Rodriguez shut and locked the bedroom door. However, Sosa forcefully kicked the door in, entirely shattering the doorknob and fracturing the frame.
During the ensuing melee, Sosa aggressively assaulted Rodriguez, striking him repeatedly with her hands. Responding officers later documented and photographed extensive abrasions across Rodriguez’s chest, back, neck, and arms. Delgado managed to escape the residence shortly thereafter as Rodriguez and the witness successfully interceded to prevent further bloodshed.
Before fleeing the scene, Sosa allegedly snatched Rodriguez’s iPhone 16—valued between $800 and $1,000—straight from his hands. While a frantic Rodriguez searched for Sosa at her place of employment in the Nisky Center and her residence behind the Happy View Market, Sosa apparently utilized an unlocked window to execute a targeted, vengeful return to the apartment.
Upon returning home, Rodriguez discovered his bedroom utterly decimated. His bed and pillows had been violently torn apart, a dresser mirror lay shattered on the floor, and an unknown "reddish liquid" had been deliberately doused and splattered across his mattress, the ground, and the walls.
VIPD Forensic Unit Crime Scene Technician P. Telemaque-Prince was dispatched to photograph the extensive property damage and document Rodriguez's injuries. Officer Liddie later apprehended Sosa at her residence. Under questioning, Sosa admitted to the initial physical altercation and taking the iPhone, but adamantly denied returning to the apartment to paint the bedroom walls with the mysterious red substance.
Sosa was turned over to the custody of the Virgin Islands Bureau of Corrections pending her formal Advice of Rights hearing, which was scheduled for this morning, Friday, June 5, 2026, at 9:00 AM before the Superior Court.
