Baby Blue Skies: St. Croix Settles Into a Stable, Sunny Weekend

Preview

By JOHN McCARTHY / St. Croix Sun Staff Writer

While the heat index is still projected to hit triple digits, the "Baby Blue" status indicates a shift toward more stable conditions as a mid-level ridge builds over the northeastern Caribbean.

  • Heat Watch: Urban and coastal areas should still prepare for indices of 100°F, though the overall risk is categorized as "Limited".

  • Sea State: Moderate trade winds of 15-20 knots will keep the waters choppy; beachgoers should remain cautious of rip currents on north-facing shores.

  • Rain Chance: Any showers will be "fast-moving" and brief, largely sparing the USVI of any significant accumulation.

As we transition into this "Yellow" phase of the week, it’s a great time to enjoy the outdoors—provided you have enough water to sustain a small village (or at least a Falcon 9 crew). Stay cool, St. Croix! 🏝️🥤
