ST. CROIX — U.S. Virgin Islands basketball icon Aliyah Boston continues to cement her status as one of the most dominant forces in women's professional basketball. Returning to full strength after managing an early-season lower leg injury, the St. Thomas native delivered a masterclass performance Friday night, leading the Indiana Fever to a thrilling 90-82 victory over the Golden State Valkyries at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Boston was unstoppable in the paint, racking up 20 points, a season-high 16 rebounds, and 3 assists in 29 minutes of action.

Making WNBA History
The stellar performance marked the 42nd career double-double for the 24-year-old center-forward. With this milestone, Boston ties Elena Delle Donne for the 34th most double-doubles in WNBA history—achieving the feat in just 129 career games.
She remains firmly entrenched as second in Indiana Fever franchise history for total double-doubles, chasing only legendary Hall of Famer Tamika Catchings.
Closing the Door on the Expansion Valkyries
The Fever held a slim 19-18 lead in the opening frame, with Boston setting an aggressive tone early by contributing 6 quick points. Though Golden State surged ahead by seven at halftime, Indiana roared back with a dominant 29-17 third-quarter run.
Down the stretch, Boston completely controlled the glass, pulling down 6 crucial boards in the final minutes to slam the door on the Valkyries' comeback attempt. Teammates Caitlin Clark (22 points, 9 assists) and Kelsey Mitchell (19 points) flanked Boston's interior dominance to secure the victory, moving the Fever forward in their 2026 campaign.
