VING Leadership Visits Joint Task Force in D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Maj. Gen. Kodjo S. Knox-Limbacker, Adjutant General of the Virgin Islands National Guard, and State Command Sgt. Maj. Kent S. Bellot conducted a high-level visit to the DC Armory on April 21, 2026.
The leadership team met with VING Soldiers and members of the Joint Information Center (JIC) currently assigned to Joint Task Force-District of Columbia (JTF-DC).
Key Mission Details
Mission Scope: Approximately 2,500 National Guard members are currently supporting the "DC Safe and Beautiful" mission.
Operational Role: These service members assist the Metropolitan Police Department in maintaining public safety for residents, commuters, and visitors across the District.
Unified Messaging: The JIC serves as the centralized hub for the operation, ensuring unified and clear communication for all law enforcement and National Guard partnerships.
Recognition: During the visit, Maj. Gen. Knox-Limbacker personally presented challenge coins to high-performing Soldiers, including those from supporting Arkansas units, recognizing their dedication to the safety of the capital.
