CHRISTIANSTED — The Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR) has announced the next chapter for one of St. Croix’s most dedicated reading circles. Commissioner Jean-Pierre L. Oriol invites the community to the upcoming session of the “Talking Books Book Club,” set for Wednesday, May 13, at 10:00 a.m.

A Journey Through Time

This month’s featured selection is Strangers in Time: A Novel by David Baldacci. Shifting from his usual high-octane thrillers, Baldacci takes readers into the heart of World War II, weaving a story of resilience and hope during one of history's most uncertain eras. For those who can't make it to the library in person, the Division of Libraries, Archives and Museums (DLAM) has expanded its digital offerings on Hoopla, adding six new eBook and audiobook copies to ensure everyone has a seat at the digital table.

Accessible Literature

The club meets at the Regional Library for the Blind and Physically Challenged, now conveniently located within the Florence Williams Public Library on King Street. Lead by Librarian II Nina Garcia, the club serves as a vital hub for connection and friendship through literature.
