DATELINE: KINGSHILL — A man entrusted with the safety of St. Croix’s children found himself on the wrong side of the law this morning at the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands.

T-ssadiq Joseph, a VIPD Community Service Officer (CSO) known to many in the community for his role directing traffic as a school crossing guard, appeared before a magistrate for an Advice of Rights hearing following his arrest for a brazen robbery at Rainbow Beach.

The "Betrayal of the Vest" Tally:

HEAVY PRICE FOR ROBBERY: George Richards III, 20, remains remanded to the John Bell Correctional Facility after failing to post a $50,000 bail. He is accused of participating in a coordinated robbery at Rainbow Beach alongside a VIPD Community Service Officer. (Photo: VIPD)

  • The Charges: Joseph and co-defendant George Richards III face counts of 2nd Degree Robbery and Grand Larceny.

  • The Trust Breach: While Joseph’s official title is CSO, his daily presence in the neon vest as a guardian of school zones makes the allegations of "predatory behavior" at a local beach even more staggering for Frederiksted residents.

  • The Fallout: Assistant Commissioner Sean Santos reiterated that the department holds its "traffic directors" and public liaisons to the highest standards of integrity—standards that allegedly fumbled during the incident.

Current Status: Both men remain remanded to the John Bell Correctional Facility after failing to post $50,000 bail each.
