CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A St. Thomas woman is in custody following a series of violent, middle-of-the-night domestic break-ins at an Anna's Retreat residence, during which she allegedly climbed through bedroom windows to assault her ex-girlfriend.
According to probable cause documents filed in the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands, Division of St. Thomas and St. John, Kenisha George turned herself in to the Domestic Violence and Special Victims Unit on Friday evening, May 22, 2026. Her arrest stems from two separate, deeply volatile incidents reported by her ex-girlfriend.
The March Incident: Window Entry and Smashed Property
The first documented assault occurred on the morning of March 24, 2026. The victim reported that she was asleep when she heard a loud banging sound and suddenly felt George on top of her, throwing punches and yelling obscenities. A female friend who was also asleep in the bed managed to pull George away and intervene.
During that initial encounter, George allegedly trashed the room, threw the victim's clothes out of a dresser, smashed acrylic shoe organization containers, and fled with the victim's cell phone. Before leaving, George ominously told the victim, "It could have been worse." Witness video recordings later backed up the victim's account, capturing George telling the victim she was lucky things weren't worse after tracking her to her workplace.
The May Escalation: A Busted Lip and a Torn Shirt
The situation turned critical at approximately 4:13 AM on May 22, 2026, when 911 dispatchers received an emergency call for assistance at 158 Anna's Retreat. Arriving officers encountered the victim wearing a torn t-shirt stained with blood.
The victim and her friend stated that George had arrived at the residence shouting names before physically forcing open a push-up bedroom window. Despite attempts to block her entry while calling 911, George climbed inside. When the victim stepped into a doorway to protect her friend from being attacked, George allegedly grabbed her shirt and repeatedly struck her, leaving the victim with a busted lip and scratches across her neck and upper arm.
Following the early morning assault, George turned herself in to authorities at 6:00 PM that evening. She refused to provide a formal statement and was turned over to the Bureau of Corrections pending her Advice of Rights hearing.
George faces multiple domestic violence criminal charges, including:
Burglary in the Third Degree (DV)
Simple Assault (DV)
Destruction of Property (DV)
Disturbance of the Peace
